Belarus: 24.01.2011 Latvia waives visa fees for Belarusians
The European Union encourages all member states to facilitate visa procedures for the citizens of Belarus. Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs decided to comply with this request.

Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that from 24 January the citizens of Belarus will not have to pay for long-term residence visa (category D). Visas of this type are issued for stays which exceed 90 days (e.g. to work or study) and allow for a single or double entry. Visas are valid for the period varying from 10 days to two years.
