Moldova: 17.02.2011 Moldovan Government Approves National Program on Implementation of the EU Action Plan

During the meeting on 17 February Moldovan cabinet approved a national programme on the implementation of the Moldova – EU action plan on the visa liberalization.

The programme includes the list of key reforms, competent authorities and implementation deadlines as well as the measures to introduce relevant legislative framework, biometric passports and ensure the security of IDs, borders and migration. The Foreign and European Integration Ministry of Moldova is in charge of supervising the implementation of the programme.

During the same meeting, the cabinet approved the draft law on preventing and combating discrimination, which is another requirement necessary to adjust Moldovan legislation to the EU standards and continue the implementation of the Moldova-EU action plan on the visa-free regime.
