Azerbaijan: 22.03.2011 Azerbaijan to simplify visa regime
The Azerbaijani government has decided to make the process of issuing visas to the tourists simpler and more transparent.
From now on, tourism agencies will be allowed to issue visas. It will be also possible to file a visa request to Azerbaijani embassies and consulates via Internet. All Azerbaijani embassies and consulates have been included in the system.

Documentation of the travel, tickets and confirmed hotel reservation or booked camping area are required to obtain this new electronic visa, which will be controlled at border crossing points. According to the new regulations, visa application processing will last up to 15 days and tourist visas are valid for 30 days. Tourist visas will not be issued at international airports in Azerbaijan.
