Moldova: 21.03.2011 Denmark Supports Moldova’s EU Aspirations

On 21 and 22 March Deputy Prime Minister, Foreign and European Integration Minister Iurie Leanca and Deputy Foreign and European Integration Minister Natalia Gherman have paid a working visit to Denmark.

Danish Foreign Ministry with Danish Institute for International Studies invited Moldovan delegation to participate in a high-level conference on the cooperation of the EU with the Easter Neighbourhood states.  The representatives of Moldova were able to present the evolution of the political dialogue with the EU, development of  negotiations on an association agreement, the EU-Moldovan dialogue on the visa regime and the preparations for the launch of talks on a free trade zone.

The visit was also an important opportunity to enhance relations between Denmark and Moldova. Two bilateral agreements were signed during the visit: an agreement on readmission of illegal immigrants and an agreement on visa facilitations.
