Ukraine: 16.03.2011 European airlines have to wait for the free access to Ukraine

The Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Borys Kolesnikov said that European airlines will gain free access to the Ukrainian market only after Ukrainian citizens will be able to travel to EU countries without a visa.

Ukraine is ready to sign an air transport agreement with Russia and Israel, both of which allow visa-free travel for Ukrainian citizens. The conclusion of such an agreement with Russia is planned for the summer.

‘Open Skies’ agreement aims at liberalising access to the internal Ukrainian market for the airline companies. Easier market entry should lead to lower ticket prices.
