Ukraine: 16.03.2011 Slovakia waives visa fees for Ukrainians in March

On 23 March 2011 the agreement between Ukraine and Slovakia on waiving visa fees, signed in Kiev on 6 October 2010, comes into effect.

The agreement exempts all Ukrainian and Slovak citizens from fees for long term visas, which entitle their bearers to stay in the country for more than 3, but no more than 12 months. After Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, Slovakia became the fourth EU member state to support the initiative for waiving fees for the national visa. Facilitating travel to Slovakia for Ukrainians is an important step towards further liberalisation of the visa regime.
