The Forum was organised by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Polish Confederation of Private Employers Lewiatan with BUSINESSEUROPE, a European federation of industrial and business employers.

Participants, including representatives of business communities from EaP partner countries, called for financial facilities to help SMEs develop in the EaP countries; ambitious free-trade agreements with all of the countries in the region (with the aim of creating a Single Market between the EU and the EaP countries for trade) and more capacity-building for business organisations in the region to help them implement EU egulations concerning trade and investment.

Heryka Bochniarz, President of Lewiatan, called the EaP “a tool for the willing”, while Director General of BUSINESSEUROPE Philippe du Buck remarked that “Free trade agreements and regulatory convergence will expand the EU Single Market to the Eastern Partners generating large trade and investment opportunities. But capacity building is essential to make sure that companies can implement the new rules in the Eastern countries. “
