Moldovan and Ukrainian presidents discuss ties in Moscow
Acting Moldovan President Marian Lupu held a meeting with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych in Moscow on 20 March, the presidential press service has said.
The officials discussed ways to step up and extend good friendship relations between Moldova and Ukraine, with the importance of preserving a positive dynamic in the bilateral cooperation being one of the main topics approached by the two presidents.
The heads of state noted that the agreements reached at the previous bilateral meeting, in particular the properties on the territories of the two states, the demarcation of the state border and the Dnestrovsk hydroelectric plant, have seen a positive dynamic.
Lupu and Yanukovych also discussed the economic cooperation between the two states, with Ukraine being among Moldova s top trade partners in the CIS.
Recently, Moldova and Ukraine have marked the 20th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
