Minsk, 30 June 2015
On the invitation of Visa-free Europe Coalition’s member, “No visa!” campaign we participated in a round table discussion on perspectives of visa facilitation for Belarusian citizens applying for Schengen (EU) visas. We presented main goals and tools of EU’s visa policy and our recommendations for enhancing availability of Schengen visas for citizens of Eastern Partnership countries. We also discussed activities of the Visa-free Europe Coalition.
Among speakers were: Andrei Yeliseyeu (Belarussian Institute for Strategic Studies, BISS) and Maryana Kuzio (Civic Initiative “Europe without Barriers”) and Krzysztof Mrozek (Stefan Batory Foundation). Participants represented diplomatic corps in Belarus, along with state, private and civic media journalists. Unfortunately, despite of an official invitation, representatives of Belarusian MFA decided not to participate in the discussion.
