EU Opens Negotiations for Framework Agreement with Armenia
Negotiations on a new, legally binding and overarching agreement with Armenia will be opened by the European Commission and High Representative Federica Mogherini, following a decision by the Foreign Affairs Council on 12 October.
The new agreement will replace the current EU-Armenia partnership and cooperation agreement, aiming to further develop and strengthen comprehensive cooperation with Armenia in all areas of mutual interest within the Eastern Partnership framework.
The official launching of negotiations is planned before the end of the year.
