Klimkin: Uncompleted Demarcation of Ukraine-Russia Border won’t Influence Visa-Free Regime with EU
The unfinished demarcation of Ukraine’s border with Russia won’t influence the introduction of visa-free travel with the European Union, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has said.
“Demarcation isn’t an obstacle to visa-free travel. We have the clear reassurances of the EU that our efforts – and we have a definite strategy – are supported,” the minister said at a press conference in Kyiv.
Klimkin said that the demarcation of Ukrainian-Russian border is ongoing, as well as the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. According to the minister, the fact that part of the Ukrainian-Russian border is uncontrolled by Kyiv will not affect the introduction of the visa-free regime with the EU.
“It doesn’t hamper [the introduction of the visa-free regime]. This is a clear political position,” he told journalists.
