Armenia: 08.02.2011 EU-Armenia workshop on mobility issues

A workshop on mobility issues gathered EU and Armenian representatives in Yerevan on 8 and 9 February. The discussions were held to prepare the ground for future negotiations on visa facilitation and readmission agreements between the EU and Armenia.

Supporting mobility is a priority issue both for the EU and the government of Armenia. Encouraging the mobility of citizens and visa facilitation is an important aspect of the Eastern Partnership, which envisages the possibility of negotiating visa facilitation and readmission agreements between the EU and Armenia. To build up the capacities of Armenian agencies for future negotiations, the TAIEX Workshop on Mobility provided insights on visa issues and procedures, as well as the EU experience with other Eastern Partnership countries.
