Polish Minister of Education Katarzyna Hall in her opening speech said “ During the Polish Presidency we would like to contribute to the discussion about mobility, taking into account its international dimension – I mean also countries which are neighbouring to the European Union, especially the Eastern Partnership countries“.

The participants were considering the possibility of strengthening mobility and broader access to European programs concentrated on education, culture and sport for the European Partnership countries.

Summing up the two-day debate, Androulla Vassiliou, the EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, underlined that the European Union wants to support the initiatives connected with Eastern Partnership. She also announced actions taken to increase the participation of students from EaP countries in mobility programs.

At the end of the conference, debaters signed a document in which they appealed for strengthening the participation of young people from EaP countries in European programs and agreed that the further evolution of cooperation with the EaP should be supported by creating a new generation of programs (in the field of culture, education, science, research and sport), as well as ensuring the financial support for their implementation.
