Belarus facilitates visa-issue procedures

Head of Information Department – Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrei Savinykh reported that the government had adopted a new version of the visa rules providing for simplification of procedures for issuing visas.

The new visa rules stipulate that foreign nationals and stateless persons with a valid residence permit in Belarus get exempt from receiving visas. Belarus has also extended the range of persons who are entitled to visit the burial sites. It’s been identified the grounds for the issuance of the Belarusian visa for medical treatment, said Andrei Savinykh. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there have been standardized forms of for visa applications.

Foreign Ministry spokesman says that beginning from early September, citizens of foreign countries, where there are no diplomatic missions or consulates of Belarus, will only be able to obtain entry visas at the National Airport.

Citizens of the states, hosting Belarusian foreign institutions, will be able to get visas at the airport only if arriving as part of the official delegation at the invitation of Belarusian government agencies or in connection with a serious illness or death of a close relative, said Andrei Savinykh.
