According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), 4 million people have crossed the state border of Ukraine since the start of the 2012 UEFA European Football Championship, the SBGS said in a statement on Tuesday.

“Since June 5, 4 million people have crossed the state border of Ukraine, which is 11% more than during the same period last year, and nearly 860,000 vehicles (an increase of 12%). In the last 24 hours, the border has been crossed by nearly 300,000 people and 60,000 transport vehicles, and the highest figure was recorded on June 17, when 330,000 people crossed the border,” the report says.

During the EURO, 1,200 organized groups of fans have crossed the state border, also the border guards processed nearly 800 planes, 520 buses and 150 trains with the participants and guests of the tournament.

The border guards say that among the guests of the championship every day they meet people without duly executed documents for crossing the border, but with tickets for football matches. In such cases, the border guards promptly make individual decisions on the passage of the fans. Only in the last two days 70 such fans have entered Ukraine.
