Already 300,000 visas issued this year by the Consulate General of Poland in Lviv

Polish Consulate in Lviv issued, since the beginning of this year, 300,000 visas to Ukrainian citizens traveling to our country and the countries of the Schengen area. Last year 285 thousand visas were issued  in Lviv consular district.

Across the Ukraine, Poland will issue over 650,000 visas – last year it was 570,000. The increase was mainly due to the number of visa centers that have arisen in cities away from the Polish consulates.

This is further evidence of the effectiveness of the Foreign Ministry of the visa policy in the East, consisting of goodwill – under Schengen rules – for citizens of Ukraine or Belarus. It is Polish consulates to which most Ukrainians turn for visas , in effect at the moment half of the number of visas granted by the EU countries to Ukraine is being issued by Polish offices. Total number of visas issued in Belarus, Ukraine and Russia is also increasing year by year: 2009 – 710 thousand., 2010 – 812 thousand., 2011 – 1,086 thousand., 2012 (first half) – 614 thousand.

Visa Center is a place where the person applying for a Polish visa may submit your passport and visa application that is sent to the Polish Consulate and considered by the consul.

Polish Consul General Jaroslaw Drozd

“Visa centers, as places nearer to their residence where they can apply for a visa, have brought us to improve customer service of Ukrainians  – tells Consul General Jaroslaw Drozd.

Creation of the visa centers, which function in Lviv, Ternopil and Ivano-Frankivsk, led to the discharge of the consulate in Lviv, besieged by applicants. Although visa centers brought many facilitations, Polish diplomats in Ukraine have a problem with a large number of fake documents on the basis of which Ukrainian citizens want to get a visa to Poland.

Consul stated that “so far, despite many talks in this area we cannot see the effects. There are still groups offering fake invitations, and that are the citizens who, after showing such an invitation, get refusal to issue a visa, and instead of reporting it to the Ukrainian militia, they are complaining about the Polish consulate. “

Polish visa points operate in 14 cities of Ukraine: Kyiv, Lviv, Odessa, Donetsk, Ternopil, Ivano – Frankivsk, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Zhytomyr, Dnepropetrovsk, Lutsk, Kharkov, Simferopol, and Vinnytsia.
