President of Poland Congratulated Ukraine on the Independence Day

President of the Republic of Poland Bronisław Komorowski congratulated the President and the people of Ukraine on the Independence Day.

In his letter of congratulation, Bronisław Komorowski expressed deep concern over the situation in Ukraine and conveyed wishes of speedy restoration of peace and stability in the entire Ukraine.

“Poland unequivocally condemns Russian aggression – occupation of Crimea and support of separatists in the East, as well as any other actions that damage the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine. Recent violation of the international law with the use of Russian convoy with humanitarian assistance causes deep concern,” the President of Poland noted.

“I consider the signature of the Association Agreement a great success for Ukraine and the EU. The Republic of Poland consistently recognizes the right of Ukraine to try to take a place in the community of democratic European states. I confirm the readiness to further provide support of Polish experts in the implementation of the Association Agreement, approximation to visa-free regime for Ukrainian citizens, holding of other reforms that will modernize the state, including local government reform,” the President of Poland stressed.

Bronisław Komorowski wished the President and the people of Ukraine success in their efforts aimed at protection of sovereignty, restoration of stability and further development of partnership between Poland and Ukraine on the basis of friendly relations that develop in the spirit of historical conciliation and commitment to common European values. “I am convinced that our friendly relations will further develop regardless of external factors,” the Polish President said.

President Komorowski invited President Poroshenko to make an official visit to Poland.
