Polish Deputy Minister Henryka Mościcka-Dendys in Talks on Georgia’s Integration with EU

On 15 October, Polish MFA Undersecretary of State Henryka Mościcka-Dendys met in Warsaw with Alex Petriashvili, Georgian State Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, with whom she discussed Georgia’s integration with the European Union and the implementation of the Association Agreement.

“Poland is one of the strongest advocates of Georgia’s freedom, independence and territorial integrity,” Deputy Minister Mościcka-Dendys emphasized during the meeting.

Apart from the implementation of AA/DCFTA provisions, an agreement which Georgia and the EU concluded in late June this year, the talks covered security issues, including NATO-Georgia cooperation in the wake of the Alliance’s summit in Newport.

Also on the agenda were expectations about next year’s Eastern Partnership summit in Riga, as well as the security situation in the Caucasus region and in other Eastern Partnership countries.

“Poland welcomes the progress that Georgia – one of Eastern Partnership leaders – has made on the path to closer integration with the EU. We will soon ratify the Association Agreement. We hope that other EU Member States will complete their ratification procedures by the end of this year, so that the agreement can come into force,” pointed out the deputy minister. She also announced that a number of initiatives are being considered to support Georgia’s integration with the EU and the implementation of the AA/DCFTA.
