Belarus: EU experts advise on border delimitation and demarcation

EU legislation on border delimitation and demarcation will be discussed by experts during an EU-funded expert mission on 26-30 September to Belarusian border city Brest. The State Border Committee of the Republic of Belarus and experts in border demarcation, international relations and geodesic surveying and EU experts will come together to ensure compliance with the EU legislation and best practice.
The event is being organised by the Technical Assistance and Information Exchange Instrument of the European Commission (TAIEX), and aims to provide advice on possible amendments to national legislation on border delimitation and demarcation.
TAIEX experts will provide guidance on the geodesy technology available to support the delineation and advise on the type of equipment that would be required to undertake the physical demarcation. The participants will be consulted on cross border cooperation and administrative issues that need to be addressed prior to the delineation and demarcation of the beneficiary borders.
